Venezuelan hammocks
Handmade by women artesans, head of families, who live in Tintorero, Lara- Venezuela. These wonderful hammocks are made of different colored cotton strings.
The hammock measures 2.25 M x 1.45mt and have a the approximate weight of 5 lbs.
The hammock comes from ancient times, to fabricate one is a true art, which is passed from generation to generation, handmade in verticle looms and made generally from cotton, that are fitted with a heavy braided lazo string at the heads or ends of the hammock. The time that is needed to make these great hammocks depends on their size and the colors that are used. When the colors are mixed it takes much more care and dedication to produce these aesthetically pleasing products. They can be used as a bed, swing or like decoration for your home or office. |
